I am a Bulgarian artist, based in Southsea, Portsmouth, with expertise in a variety of disciplines.
My journey began in the pre-school age, as a traditional artist, and after years of practise my medium expanded into the world of digital arts. My love for the tactile quality of traditional art persists, as I often work with acrylic and watercolour paint, ink and crayon, often experimenting with lino-printing and paper model making.
My digital art style is heavily reliant on the naturalistic quality of traditional painting. I implement techniques and tools that would make my digital pieces have a feel similar to the one of an acrylic painting, and my art is heavily inspired by nature, and more specifically the animal world.
By trade, I am a 3D artist with two higher-education degrees and several independently made animated films. I am a generalist by heart, who constantly seeks ways to extend the boundaries of my craft through experimenting with every aspect of the pipeline. I utilise my traditional skills into my 3D work, always ensuring it has an illustrative quality that makes the piece look more like a painting, than a CG project.
I aim to create contemporary work, with a focus on the narrative quality and discussing social issues, mainly told through my perspective as an immigrant in the UK. I am heavily interested in doing museum and gallery work as I believe that all art, whether traditional or digitally made, can use its aesthetics to speak when words are not enough.
