After many years of creative dormancy, I have recently begun to indulge my artistic side once again. I had not intended for any of the things that I create to be used for public consumption. I used them as a way to keep me sane and as an outlet for my emotionally intense day job where I support homless young adults. I have since discovered that my artistic side is useful in my work with young adults as well as in my "normal" life and, best of all, that people actuallly like my work!
I am still trying to find my signature style. I mostly do canvas upcycling/recycling, collage, decoupage, pebble painting, splatter art, scrapbooking etc but I am open to experimentation and will turn my hand to almost anything in order to gain more experience.
Over the past year, I have spent time establishing relationships, both professional and personal, with local, national & international artists and street artists. I have worked as an Artist's Assistant during Portsmouth's LookUp Street Art Festival where I assisted "Getting up to Stuff" with installing his "Madonna of The Gulls" sculputre at Priory School.
I have also continued the Portsmouth tradition, started by our own My Dog Sighs, of doing "Free Art Friday" drops with some of my work around the local area which has gone down extremley well.
I am now looking to gain any experience that I am able to in the creative arts sector. I am always open to ideas/suggestions/feedback, anything to gain more skills and knowledge!
I would love to gain the confidence to eventually be able to paint my very own wall at LookUp festival should it continue so, that is my goal going forward. If you think you can help me in achieving this or offer me any advice along the way, please contact me. I am always open to creative conversation!
I offer commission work for anyone who doesn't mind me practicing my skills on them. Please contact me with any enquiries.
